but … it’s soo pretty youtube hop

Hey y’all I cannot tell you how flippin’ excited I am to bring you this awesome, amazing, fantabulous YouTube/Blog Hop!!!

Why is it called a YouTube/Blog Hop?

Well, most of us are video makers and we know y’all love watching videos so you can hop along to our respective YouTube channels and enjoy tons of inspiration, and we also have some awesome blogs mixed in there for your reading pleasure.

Now, the fun part … what is this hop all about?

The challenge is called “But … it’s so pretty!” the idea is to take that item that we all have in our stash, that you have been hoarding, you know the one I am talking about. We all have that one piece of paper or pack of embellishments that we look at, on the regular, and think to ourselves ‘its soo pretty’ then put it back and don’t use it … because … ‘it’s so pretty.’ This challenge is designed to make us use those beautiful things. I mean cut it up, glue it down, paint over it, whatever you want but get that gorgeous thing incorporated in a project. It can be any sort of project you like, card, layout, project life, mini album, whatever floats your boat, just USE IT 🙂

Why participate?

Besides all of the awesome videos and hours of inspiration … there are some MAJOR giveaway prizes.

How do I win?

  1. Thank you so much Kate for doing this hop. It was a lot of work to organize and you did so amazing at putting it all together. It was so much fun to do. I hope you do it again. I also wanted to say thank you for inviting me to participate in the hop and thank you to all of the ladies that participated. They are all so talented. Good luck to all and I can’t wait to see who the winners are.

  2. What an awesome hop! I don’t really hoard anything. I’ve got some leftover paper that I’ve already used but I’ll try and give it a whirl. I will say though there are quite a few things I decided I “need”. One is the vellum sayings that sandy used.

  3. Thank you Kate! This is super fun! I appreciate the opportunity to share and play along. I am thrilled to get to watch all of the talented artists on this hop. I def enjoyed pulling out the “pretty” that I used and it was a fun challenge :))))))))))

  4. Love the idea of this as I too hoard all my pretty paper!!! watching these videos is so inspiring….Auntie Re creates is truly becoming my scrapbooking want to be…thank you again.

  5. This is such a great idea! I was helping my daughter build a kit for a mini album she’s making for her best friend, and I can’t tell you how many times I said “OH I love that! It’s so pretty! I should use that some time…”. Thanks for the push! My “Oh, it’s soo pretty” item is a piece of gold foil vellum (that looks exactly the the gold polka dot vellum in Cheri’s video) that I regularly gaze at. I will be using it this week!!

  6. Thanks so much for the video hop. I love the Karen Russell papers that AuntREcREates used. I have those same papers and I need to get them out and use them. This just gave me a kick in the pants to do that. Thanks so much for organizing this hop.

  7. I have been hording papers since 1990… so I have a good and tidy horde. I’m sure I might have at least a couple of the Karen Russel papers that AuntReCreates has…. but the papers I horde terribly are Graphic 45. Especially Botanical Tea. So I’m going to take your challenge and use some of my ultra precious Botanical Tea papers. US citizen here.

  8. I have papers i don’t want to use. The last one are the Kiss Kiss colection from crate paper, just like Irit Landgraf used.
    I’m from Portugal

  9. Thanks for doing this! I hoard paper and kits! Need to get back to scrapping to use up pretty things. I don’t like to take apart pretty kits and need to do that more so I use them in different ways.

    1. I realize I forgot to name a person….Ashley Laura’s use of the collection kit reminded me about all the kits i have that I need to take apart and use.

  10. What an awesome idea and fun hop Kate … I am just at the beginning so will be back at the end LOL, to post another comment!!!

  11. Thank you for organizing such a fun video hop! I’ve been holding on to a lot of the products the participants used on their projects so now I feel more enthused about using them. The one that really struck me was the older Karen Russell paper that Auntie Re Creates used in her video. She did an amazing job making an older product blend perfectly with new product. I have that same paper and will be pulling it out to see what I can do with it. Thanks again for a very fun afternoon/evening of video watching! I’m in the U.S.

  12. I can easily see myself hoarding the same Pinkfresh diecuts that Patty Sandberg used. They are just soooo pretty! lol I’m in the USA!!

  13. Hi Kate….this is just about the best idea ever. I’m definitely a paper hoarder and had in mind several of the papers Irit showed (especially the Websters Pages ones). I live in the US. Thank you so much for the opportunity!

  14. This was a lot of fun Kate! I’m so glad I used that vellum gold foil polka dot paper…..it’s so pretty! I’m not sure how long I would have continued to hoard it but it looks so much better on a layout than in my stash!!

  15. What an awesome hop and I would think that my pretty item would be the paper pad called “Primrose” from Michaels and the person who used something similar because of the gold was Lisa (Maggiemylow). TFS

  16. What a fun hop. So many great, inspiring ideas. Not quite sure why, but when I saw your layout I thought of a KI Memories doily transparency that I have been hoarding for awhile and that is what I ended up using in my entry. I was also inspired to use yellow because of layouts by you, Patty Sandberg, and Amanda O’Banion. Patty inspired me to use a vellum envelope that had been in my stash forever.

  17. This was one of the best hops Ive been on!! All the girls are so talented & now I have so many ideas to get some of my hoard used up!! How do I pick just one of them!! Yikes thats so hard..they’ll all Amazingly talented!! I love Robyn’s, Sandras & Traci’s!! Hugs~Dani

  18. I loved all of these! I think I hoard my pretty pink papers and anything with Gold. I think I’m mainly like Irit or Cheri. The Kiss Kiss collection or anything from notes & things I tend to hoard. But also I’m like Cheri, especially with gold or vellum, once I cut into them, I’m like “I need to save the rest of this paper” lol. Thanks for hosting this Kate and thanks for a chance to win. I’m in the U.S.

  19. I greatly enjoyed the hop! All the girls are fun to watch. I already subscribed to a bunch of them & I found a couple more to subscribe too! I’m in the US. My favorite layout was Robin Voak’s. I love to hoard anything pink, shimmery, or sparkly! I’ve collected paper since 2003. Ironically, I started making my base pages last week to diminish my hoarded stash. I have 12 layouts to finish up & embellish. For some reason, doing them in parts has worked for me this time!

  20. Thank you so much for the hop! It was really fun and I found some new YouTubers to follow.:). I would say I am most like Cheri at Scrappinnwrappin. I start to use my pretty paper but end up with a ton of scraps because I don’t want to use it all up. I am in the U.S. Thanks for a chance to win!!

  21. This is one of the coolest hops I’ve ever seen. I think every crafter can relate to not wanting to use or misuse some product because its too darn pretty. I think Ashley Laura most reminded me of myself…I bought a lot of the new Craft Market paper and some embellishments and its been hard to cut into it for fear of not doing it justice or messing up a layout and wasting the items. Thanks so much for the chance to win. I’m from the US.

  22. Awesome hop! Would love to participate in one of the YouTube hops. Robin Voalk and mercitiera has some of the collections I am hoarding, but trying to use. Thank you so much for the inspiration.

  23. This op its been so fun to watch , I have to say that as many of the girls I hord paper, I just want to save it for that perfect picture , I have so much prima and webster pages papers ust waiting , this is pushing me to use some of that , thanks so much for this hop and the chance to win fun prizes

  24. Hello Kate! This blog hop is so fun! I have the same ruffle paper you used but in all white. You have inspired me to get it out and play. Your layout turned out beautiful! Oh and I from the U.S.

  25. Hi Kate. Pam S. here from the USA. This is an amazing giveaway–thank you so much. I’ve really enjoyed watching all these beautiful pages come together. I have to say the person who I can relate to most regarding my most hoarded thing is Amanda O’Banion. I’m terrible about deciding on the “best” design and paper, etc. for those really special pictures. I always worry I won’t do them justice. Watching Amanda’s video brought that to light for me. Now that I’m more aware, maybe I can take the plunge and just do it. 🙂

  26. Thank you so much for this fun hop! It was so great to be able to see the different styles and videos of such inspiring scrappers. I related most to Melovebono and her use of the Sassafrass paper. I have a ton, hoarded because I can’t get it anymore! I’m motivated to put it out! Thanks for the fun!

  27. This blog hop was such an awesome idea! Irit’s video really hit home with me because I have that same collection and couldn’t bring myself to use it because it is just so pretty but after watching Irit’s video, I am inspired to make a LO using this beautiful collection. I live in the the beautiful evergreen state of Washington, USA.

  28. This blog post and hop is so much fun! Irit used all the products that are just sitting in my stash because they are too pretty. I love what she made and it totally encourages me to make a layout with the things I love. I love how she said we should use what we love when we love it. Soooo true.

    I’m from Canada.

  29. Great hop and prizes. Thanks to all the ladies who participated! I have the Craft Market collection, but haven’t actually used it. I want just the perfect picture. Ashley Laura used this collection. She’s inspired me to cut into it. VA, USA.

  30. Hi Kate! Thanks for putting this together! I found more scrappers to follow on you tube for more inspiration. Ashley Laura gave me inspiration to use my I Am collection! I’ve been hoarding it cuz it’s just so pretty! And now I have to have the craft market too!!

    Florida USA

  31. What a fun hop!!! I am hoping to work on a layout, but can’t decide yet what to use. (also need a little time) I am I the US.

    1. I FINALLY got my layout posted. I used the Bella Rouge collection like Shawna Webster. Thank you for this amazing hop and challenge to use some of my stash!

  32. What a fun hop! It’s pretty hard to pick what video represented my pretty product because I hoard so many! Seeing Sandy use the ruffle paper reminds me of the MH tags with crepe paper on them I don’t wanna use! Tracey’s video reminded me to get out all my IAM pieces I don’t want to touch! Thanks for the chance and I’m excited to have a few new channels to watch 🙂

  33. This was such a great idea and fun blog hop! The videos were so inspiring and I saw some of the same “pretties” that I hang on to!! Thanks for putting this together!!

  34. What a fun hop. Introduced me to some new scrappers! Irit Landgraf inspired me to use some ‘special’ papers that I have been hording. Thanks for the chance to win…… USA

  35. What a lot of fun! I have a couple of Scarlet Lime kits that I’ve been hoarding and all the videos have inspired me to get it into an album! Thanks for the chance to win. U.S.A.

  36. Kate thank you for putting this wonderful hop together…I watched them all and inspired by all and it was a hard choice but I picked—Tuesdae

  37. This was awesome. I love so many of the videos and was very inspired. Thank you so much for arranging this, it was one of the best NSD event I’ve seen!

  38. I have to admit I am still hoarding the I Am collection- it is soooo pretty. Using this hop as inspiration to start using it.

  39. Thanks for the wondeful blog hop. I was introduced to more amazing ladies, found some more pretties that I must have and now have some drive to use up some of my Pretties. Di Valenz inspired me to use some 6X6 paper from Webster Pages I have had for a Mothers day card. Unfortunately I did not take a picture. BUT this weekend I will find some more pretties to use on a layout and will share. Thanks again and I am Canadian.

  40. The hop was so awesome! I think my hoarding style is a lot like Mercy Tiara’s – gold foiled things, vellum, and papers from my favourite collections. I always want to keep at least one of everything on hand! Thanks for organizing Kate!

  41. Thank you Kate for having this fun hop. I totally enjoyed watching every video! Ashley Laura Inspired me to break into my Craft Market collection and cut it up! Thanks for the inspiration! I’m In the United States.

  42. Hi Kate thanks for putting on an awesome hop! I love love love your work & your videos! I have to say I am a hoarder of my favorite patterned paper. I don’t buy very much single paper it more of a paper pad kind of girl who my scrapbooking budget; therefore I hoard all of my beautiful papers!! 😩

I plan to take it out soon! Thank for the inspiration!! 😍

  43. Thanks so much for putting this together Kate…. What an awesome hop, with great inspiration and wonderful idea. I even saw Sheri (AuntiReCretes) use some very old paper that I still had in my stash as well LOL.

  44. I have to say there was a little of me in everyone’s hoarding pretty things but I most related too Cheri scrappingwrapping as I tend to use my pretty things but keep just a little to gaze at fondly later :~) I live in the good ole usa

  45. I can totally relate to Tuesdae’s piece! I had this 12×12 wood veneer that I saved & was so afraid to mess it up! I also wanted to make a layout of my cat who passed away a couple years ago but wanted to make it special & so I put the two together! Here’s my process video enjoy! I’m in the U.S. of A 🙂 http://youtu.be/xzEu6HCs1Mw

  46. Thanks for putting this hop together Kate. It was fun seeing how all used their favorites up. The one I can relate to the most is Sandy, because I have Dear Lizzy items that I’ve been holding on to and have used scarcely – because it’s soooo pretty 🙂
I also have a doodlebug sheet and a few pieces of lawn fawn that I haven’t used yet, but I’m hoping to do so soon.
