open box: hallmark scrapbook

I recently discovered Hallmark Scrapbook and placed my first order. Below are the links to the products and a video showing them, and what I plan to do with them, in detail. I always enjoy finding new places online, especially because I do not have any local stores that sell these products.

I wanted to share my overall thoughts on the experience of ordering from Hallmark Scrapbook:

The website is super user friendly and aesthetically pleasing.

They have great prices.

Many of the newest cardmaking products.

They have an affiliate program, which is awesome.

It seems to be more focused on cardmaking which is interesting given the name is Hallmark Scrapbook. I noticed very little scrapbooking supplies, and minimal if any 12×12 paper.

This is not a store for the embellishment shopper, they mainly carry, in my opinion, stamps, dies, tools, cardstock. That being said, they have a wonderful selection of those items and I loved that I could get the latest Lawn Fawn releases and the Neenah Desert Storm cardstock I needed. Most of the time those items would have to come from different places.

I did notice many of the new products were sold out fairly quickly, specifically the newest Altenew and WPlus9 releases. My suggestion would be to get to their website quickly after new releases so as not to miss them.

Shipping is $9.99 or free for order over $99.00, I found that to be a but high but most if not all of the products on their site are discounted so I would imagine it works out to be about retail in the end. Note: the free shipping option is USPS or FedEx and shipped very quickly.

All in all I would definitely recommend checking out Hallmark Scrapbook especially for you cardmakers or stampers. I have not had to deal with their customer service but I will keep you posted if and when I ever need to.

Thanks so much for stopping by and please check out the products linked below and the video.

DIY Valentine’s Day Banner

Valentine’s Day is such a fun festive holiday, and one that is full of sweet DIY projects. As a paper crafter I am always looking to use my supplies in different ways. For this banner and the decorative straws I am using some of my steel dies, felt, and twine to create cute projects.

The great thing about these projects is that you most likely have the supplies on hand, and if not you can always trace and image and hand cut it. You can also substitute the felt with pattern paper and that would be really fun as well.

Here is what you will need:

Red Felt

White Felt

Pink Felt

Alphabet Die Set (Quinn’s ABC Lawn Fawn)

Heart Shaped Die (American Crafts Dear Lizzy)

Glue Gun

Bakers Twine

Sizzix Big Shot

To create the banner start by die cutting all your shapes and letters.

I like to use a grid mat to make sure I get the correct spacing between hearts when adding the twine. I have a found a glue gun works best for adhering the hearts to the twine.

I had a few extra hearts to I thought it would be super cute to add them to some paper straws. I just love how they turned out. I hope you have enjoyed this quick and simple Valentine’s projects and can’t wait to see what you are creating this month.
